EXPERIMENT (2000 - 2001)

Towards the end of my 3rd year at the National College of Art and Design, displeased with the direction of my work, I became concerned with process. I approached Trinity College and arranged a series of visits to the Genetics labs to research processes. I simplified and recreated these processes, replacing the solutions used in DNA testing with common painting liquids. Using these paint liquids to solidify pigments, I conducted a large number of experiments in Petri dishes. These experiments were exhibited at my degree show in 2001. They were presented in the form of large digital prints heat mounted onto clear perspex.
